Origin of Foundation
The firm was founded in 2016 as a startup dedicated to the development and practical application of a new power generation technology that converts heat existing in the environment into electricity. Much of today's electricity depends on fossil fuels, and as global warming becomes more serious, the importance of renewable energy is increasing. On the other hand, there is also the challenge that much of the waste heat generated in the processes of power generation and industrial activities remains unused and is discarded.
Against this background, they have focused on "unused heat"—such as environmental heat, body temperature, and waste heat from factories—and have challenged themselves to develop technology that utilizes these as new energy sources. A major characteristic is their aim for a power generation mechanism that, unlike conventional methods, does not require a temperature difference. Through this technology, the firm aspires to improve energy efficiency and, in the future, solve social issues such as providing emergency power during disasters and supplying electricity to areas where infrastructure is not yet developed.
Our Initiatives
The firm is working on the development of "Ambient Power Generation," a new technology that converts "heat" that was previously discarded into electricity. For example, it can generate electricity using the invisible heat around us, such as the slight heat in the air or the heat emitted when machines operate. Because it is not affected by the weather like solar power and can generate electricity without special locations or large equipment, it is expected to be a completely new way of using energy.
Specifically, applications include the reuse of waste heat from factories and power plants, maintenance-free power sources for IoT sensors, and autonomous power sources for smart devices and caregiving robots. Furthermore, they are looking toward applications in a wide range of fields, such as improving power generation efficiency in combination with solar power and utilizing waste heat from EVs.
Future Vision
What the firm aims for is the realization of a "society where power generation is possible in all places." They will contribute to the construction of a sustainable society by promoting the local production and consumption of energy. In the future, they want to realize a world where the very concept of "charging" becomes unnecessary through the practical application of Ambient Power Generation in smart devices.
In addition, as IoT devices increase explosively to the level of one trillion units per year, the firm will contribute to the construction of a new industrial foundation by providing semi-permanent power sources that require no replacement or charging. Through innovative clean energy technology centered on nanotechnology, the firm will balance the reduction of environmental impact with the efficient use of energy, pioneering the energy society of the next generation.
